# About Metric

Metric is a decentralized exchange that provides infrastructure to build onchain market making pools and strategies with unlimited flexibility and efficiency.

Each pool reads a live reference price and quotes directly off it. Liquidity stays centered where the market trades, so a fraction of the capital does the same work and LPs do not fund arbitrage.

Key properties:

* Prices are moving with a real market
* Spreads are below centralized-exchange levels on supported pairs
* No range management or rebalancing for LPs
* Anyone can deploy a pool with any custom pricing logic.
* Pools are composable and routed by major aggregators from day one
